Wine & Truffle Tour
All year round (1hr drive from Florence).
You'll enjoy some hours walking through typical woods, picking truffles along with a special guide, also an expert, but mostly a friend who will teach how to find truffles with dog.
After this wonderful experience you'll have a specia truffle tasting of truffle oil, truffle paste and truffle-based products. This is organized in a very famous local truffle shop.
Schedule
- 10.00 a.m. Pick-up at your hotel in Florence or its vicinities.
- 11.00 a.m. Arrival at San Miniato. Walk through the woods with an expert truffle hunter and his dog finding truffles.
- 12:00 p.m. We will move in a local winery for a wine and truffle tasting (Bruschetta with truffle).
- 03:00 p.m. We go back to Florence where the tour will be end by 4:00 pm.

What began as a simple outing to The Truffle Hunter became the highlight of our trip to Italy!We set off to the hills of Bagna i Ripoli on a crisp sunny morning and were met by Giulio and his truffle hunting dog Etta. After some introductory Truffle information we set off for the hillside over looking Florence, even the view was worth the climb. Etta led the way and found some truffles that Giulio quickly recovered. He explained along the way the various types of truffles and the different seasons and showed us where he and many of the locals forage for such goodies as wild asparagus.
After the hunt we returned to the Truffle House for a special lunch prepared by Christina who is a gifted and instinctive cook. Each course was tailored to showcase the essence of the various truffles and incorporated many local ingredients. Everything was delicious and we look forward to returning.

What a great day! From the moment we arrived we felt at home with Giulio. We had a great time hunting for truffles and we found 3! Then we had the pleasure of enjoying them with our lunch, home cooked by Giulio's lovely wife. By the time we left we felt like a member of the family. Thanks for everything.

Ten of our guest from the 54m yacht hunted and ate with Giulio and his lovely wife. I was invited as I am the chef on board the yacht.
We had a great time walking through the beautiful country side as Giulio and his amazing dog found black summer truffles every 20 meters.
Afterwards we returned to Giulio's authentic Tuscan home and ate the most perfect pairings of our truffles and rare local wines. Once lunch was finished we all bought some truffle goods to take home for gifts. If you are nice to Giulio he might give you a jar of the capers he grows on site and salts himself.
As a chef/food lover I cannot give this a higher recommendation. You will learn, laugh and eat.

Vittorio did an exceptional job ensuring all our needs were uncovered and met during our trip. His knowledge of truffles and wine are amazing. We also met Moreno and his wonderful dogs who quickly found some truffles. It was quite amazing how they were able to hunt the truffles in the ground. We then next traveled to the lovely town of Aghiari and sipped Prosecco in a lovely garden setting. Soon we went to a nearby restaurant to have a delicious truffle lunch. What a lovely 7course dinner they prepared for us. I would highly recommend the company! Awesome work!
