A guided truffle hunt near San Miniato with Francesca, followed by a traditional 3-course truffle lunch at her family's 17th-century farmhouse.

Hunt for rare truffles in the forest near San Miniato, then enjoy your treasures in a decadent meal. The program starts at Fattoria Collebrunacchi, where you'll meet Francesca, our truffle hunter.

Lunch

Lunch includes truffle appetizers, pasta topped with shaved truffles (Tagliolini al Tartufo), and a dessert paired with Vin Santo wine. Francesca's farm also produces excellent red and white wines, available to taste and buy, along with quality truffles and truffle products.

Getting there

This experience takes place in San Miniato, Tuscany, only a 45-minute drive from Florence. Rates do not include transportation: guests based in Florence can take the train from Santa Maria Novella (departure 9:53 a.m., arriving San Miniato-Fucecchio) and continue by taxi — a ride from the station to the farmhouse costs about €25 for up to 3 passengers. The train doesn't run on Sundays, so on that day the hunt takes place at Bagno a Ripoli instead. If you prefer not to drive, we can also book a car or minivan with a personal chauffeur.

Dear Francesca, last season, the truffle hunt with Chocolat was a wonderful experience. I will never forget the wine and truffle dishes at the San Miniato villa, so I hope to visit again this year.

Such a wonderful experience! When we booked our 3-week trip to Italy, we realized October was mushroom season. We found Francesca's tour online, and booked the truffle hunt experience with lunch/tasting menu. This family-run business provides boots and rain jackets for the woodland walk portion of the experience - much appreciated as it was lightly raining the day of our tour, and rather muddy. Almost immediately, Francesca's dog, Levante, located several truffles, and Francesca showed how she gently retrieves them.
